Throughout the film, he matures and learns how to become overwhelming!
THE SCRIPT
The script was written inspired by the many women friends of director Mara Mourao and many funny stories about the emotional problems of women, almost always looking for someone.
An honest reflection on the complexity of life today. After all, women in the struggle to find an ideal partner, end up making use of various methods: they are casual encounters via the Internet or through dating agencies.
Laura, the main character, is very distressed by not finding a mate. This actually happens to thousands of women around the world. It is this element that makes this film a commercial project appeal, especially among the female audience. As a previous example we can mention the movie “First Wives Club” with Diane Keaton, Goldie Hawn and Bette Midler, who was among the top ten US box office in 1998. Or even “Bridget Jones” box office success 2001.
In Avassaladoras the main characters are women thirties, anxious about the painful prospect of arriving alone at forty.
SCENARIO
For a low-budget film could be made possible, they were used in the filming locations rather than sets. Therefore, the film had one of the best rental producers in Brazil: Johnny Catrolli. 36 locations were filmed in 31 days, all in the city of Rio de Janeiro. The outdoor show postcards of the city. Overwhelming shows us a very charming Rio de Janeiro, a mixture of sophisticated scenarios with the chaos of the city center (the scene of the Arab spice shop).
